About Dr. Julie Crimmins

I believe every individual has a unique story. Understanding how someone thinks, learns, communicates, and experiences the world is the first step toward providing meaningful support. Neuropsychological evaluation is not just about identifying areas of difficulty; it is about gaining a deeper understanding of an individual’s unique way of navigating the world.

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in pediatric neuropsychological evaluation. I earned my Doctorate in Psychology from William James College and received specialized postdoctoral training in neuropsychological assessment. I have dedicated my career to understanding the complex relationships among cognitive functioning, learning, behavior, and emotional well-being.

In addition to my private practice, I serve as a staff neuropsychologist at Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital in Massachusetts, where I provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. I evaluate a wide range of concerns, including attention and executive functioning difficulties, learning differences, autism spectrum concerns, twice-exceptionality, and emotional and behavioral functioning. I also supervise MGB postdoctoral fellows, supporting the clinical training and professional development of future neuropsychologists.

Throughout my career, I have collaborated extensively with school systems to provide neuropsychological evaluations for students being considered for special education services. This work has given me a deep understanding of how neuropsychological assessment can inform effective educational planning.

My approach to evaluation is thoughtful, collaborative, and strengths-based. I recognize that seeking a neuropsychological evaluation is often an important decision for families and may come after years of questions or uncertainty. Whether families are seeking diagnostic clarification, trying to better understand a child’s learning profile, or looking for guidance on how to best support their child’s development, my goal is to create an evaluation experience that feels supportive, informative, and empowering.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. My experiences as a parent have reinforced my belief that every child has a unique way of learning, communicating, and navigating the world. Parenting a twice-exceptional child has deepened my appreciation for the importance of looking beyond a diagnosis to understand the whole child, including their abilities, experiences, and the unique ways they learn and experience the world.
