What to Expect
Every neuropsychological evaluation is tailored to the individual's unique needs and referral questions. While each evaluation is personalized, the process generally includes the following steps:
Initial Consultation/Intake
The evaluation begins with an initial consultation to discuss your concerns, review relevant developmental, medical, educational, and social history, and determine the referral questions to be addressed. This appointment is also an opportunity to ask questions about the evaluation process and discuss the estimated cost of the assessment.
The testing session is individualized based on the referral questions and may include assessment of cognitive functioning, academic skills, attention and executive functioning, memory, language, visual-spatial abilities, and social-emotional functioning.
Testing typically lasts 3–6 hours, depending on the scope of the evaluation. Breaks are provided throughout the appointment.
As part of the evaluation process, parents are asked to complete questionnaires regarding their child's developmental, behavioral, emotional, and everyday functioning. When appropriate, teachers and other caregivers may also be invited to complete rating scales to provide additional information about functioning across settings. This collaborative approach helps ensure that recommendations are informed by a comprehensive understanding of the individual's strengths and challenges.

Feedback Session
Once all assessment data have been reviewed and integrated, we will meet to discuss the results of the evaluation. During this meeting, I will explain the findings in clear, understandable language, answer your questions, review any diagnoses (when applicable), and discuss individualized recommendations to support success at home, school, and in everyday life.
Comprehensive Evaluation Report
Following the feedback session, you will receive a comprehensive written report summarizing the evaluation findings. The report includes test results, diagnostic impressions, and individualized recommendations that can be shared with schools, healthcare providers, and other members of your child's support team.
Cost and Payment
I believe that families should have a clear understanding of the cost of services before beginning the evaluation process. Because every referral question is unique, the scope of each evaluation is individualized to best address your specific concerns.
At this time, I do not participate with insurance plans, and all evaluations are offered on a self-pay basis. The cost of an evaluation varies depending on the referral questions and the scope of the assessment. During the initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns in detail, and I will provide you with an estimated fee for the evaluation.
Some insurance plans offer reimbursement for services provided by out-of-network providers. If you are interested in seeking reimbursement, I encourage you to contact your insurance company to inquire about your out-of-network benefits. Upon completion of the evaluation, I will provide you with a detailed invoice (superbill) and receipt that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is determined solely by your insurance carrier and cannot be guaranteed.
